Henley House seeks Veterinary Surgeon

We are extremely excited at the prospect of welcoming a new veterinary surgeon to the ranks here at Henley House Vets, Uckfield, and here we tell you how working with us is an exciting opportunity for any veterinary surgeon looking for a rewarding new chapter in their working life too.

The Practice

Our major overhaul of the practice in 2019 has made for a bright, light, and well-equipped working space. We have invested heavily in equipment such as digital X-ray (including dental X-ray), ultrasound, K-Laser, and separate, relaxed cat and dog wards in order to provide a sleek, calm and thorough service for pets and their owners; but that isn’t where it ends.

We feel strongly that excellence in veterinary medicine is centred around the very people delivering the service in the first place, and therefore we work hard to ensure that our vets, nurses and support team enjoy a fulfilling work life, with an excellent work-life balance. It doesn’t end at having excellent equipment and facilities at our disposal, but extends to offering a working pattern which promotes a positive life outside of work.

The Role

We understand that vets are people, and people have hobbies, interests and responsibilities outside of work; we offer a four-day working week which supports this ethos. There is no out of hours requirement for the role advertised and, although we do feel it is important to offer a Saturday service to our clients (in the best interest of their pets), most vets find a 1:5 Saturday morning rota very manageable indeed. Further, we are very happy to consider a job share scenario should two vets be interested in the position but unable to fill the entire quota.

The Team

As alluded to previously, we believe that a happy team makes for a great team. So, we aim to support our vets and nurses in any field of interest that they might have. We see our veterinary nurses as professionals in their own right, providing autonomy wherever possible and thus creating a group of people who feel valued. The result is a cohesive team who are happy, respectful, and inclined to support one another.

The Atmosphere

The wonderful thing is, is that we’re not the only people who think that Henley House Vets is a great veterinary practice; pet owners do too! Winning The Best UK Vets Award for East Sussex in 2021 is an achievement that we’re very proud of. Having a client base who appreciate what we do makes the whole enterprise worthwhile and brings a certain job satisfaction that can’t be matched. Our lovely clients and their lovely pets are a pleasure to work with which makes our job extremely rewarding.

But don’t take our word for it; Abi, one of our vets in Heathfield has said that:

I have worked in many practices before taking a permanent position at Henley house 2 years ago and it really is a great place to work! Friendly, positive and supportive team. Always maintained a really good work life balance. Working for a well-run independent practice is fantastic as you are appreciated more, have more autonomy and great job satisfaction.”

So, if you think that you have ‘the stuff’ required to fit into this role then we want to hear from you. And by ‘the stuff’ we mean that you’re a personable yet professional individual who enjoys work, enjoys bringing a second-to-none service to pets and their owners, whilst all the while having a blast in the company of a dedicated, supportive and cheerful team of like-minded people.
